From Drab to Fab in 5 easy steps!
July 17, 2014

It has been proven time and time again that most first time home buyers would prefer to purchase a home that is spit shined and ready to move in! Taking a bit of time to spruce up your home before you put it on the market could truly help sell your home that much quicker.

1. The first thing to look at is Curb Appeal. Most buyers will drive by the home that they are interested in before they make any contact with a Real Estate professional or a home owner. If a home is not appealing on the outside, chances are that a potential home buyer won't take the time to even take that first step inside.
a. Clean up any clutter.
b. Plant a few flowers.
c. Keep the lawn mowed.
d. Touch up the paint on the Front Door.

2. Buyers can become distracted by family photos and heirlooms. You want a potential home buyer to imagine what their items would look like in the home. De-personalize the home. Pack up your family photos and heirlooms that are displayed. Let the buyers imagination race with possibilities.

3. Most buyers are concerned about closet and cabinet space. They want to know that they will have plenty of room for their stuff! Organize the closets and cabinets. Imagine what a buyer would think if they opened up the pantry and the waffle iron came crashing out on to their feet!

4. In addition to a buyers attraction to space, get rid of any clutter. A spacious home with room is more attractive to a buyer that a cluttered area with very little room to move around.

5. Take a bit of time and make those minor repairs. You want the buyer to get excited about moving in, not looking at the tedious repairs that they will have to make once they move in.
a. Patch any holes in the walls.
b. Fix any doors that don't shut properly.
c. Fix any cracked tiles.
d. Fix any leaky faucets.

Taking a bit of time to make these little tweaks now, can help move your home on and off the market at a much faster rate.
