Florida Realtors has issued a Call to Action for all of the association members to contact their state senator and urge them to pass CS/SJR 1254. According to Florida Realtors, this bill will allow a property tax break for qualified home buyers, in turn boosting the Florida real estate market.
Florida residents may have already heard about Amendment 3, as it will allow a property tax exemption for first time homebuyers, however the CS/SJR 1254 ties the whole thing together, bringing this opportunity to many more homeowners.
According to John Sebree, the Vice President of Public Policy at Florida Realtors, "While Amendment 3, if passed, creates a new property tax exemption for first-time homebuyers, that benefit does not go far enough, CS/SJR 1254 finishes the job.
The Florida Legislature is voting on the initiative before next Friday, so act fast if you want your voice to be heard.
