I am fairly new to real estate. So naturally, I look at agents that have been in the business for more that 5 years as being “educated” in our field. I always thought they would have a handle on the business end of real estate. This morning I was speaking to a young lady at NAR and to my surprise, I was told that many “educated” Realtors are in Trademark violation. It is a small area of the business that even the PRO’s overlook. That’s why I wanted to share this information with you. During our conversation she told me that NAR is currently searching the internet for violators. It is a good time to check your signs, websites and cards for potential violations. If your website, cards or advertizing material has descriptive words, or has a geographic location attached to it. There’s a good chance you are in violation.
